Let's Talk About Blendspace!
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP TO THIS SESSION.

Blendspace is a great digital tool that allows teachers to blend digital content into their instruction. I’ve had my students use Blendspace for many different assignments such as: research, reviews for tests, project based learning collaborative groups, etc. For example, my students worked together in their collaborative groups to study all aspects of water (pollution, drought, scarcity, treatment). They were able to look up resources for their project and share the sites with each other and create information slides for their project all in one application. Next, they were able to work together on one lesson board and combine their resources to make their final project. It was amazing and so user friendly!

Using Google For Teacher Support Systems
This summer our district took on the task of creating a support system for new teachers (0-2 years teaching experience). Our goal was to create a program that would provide these teachers with a feeling of support and community not just within their home campus but across the district as well. Join us for a discussion of how Google Apps allowed us to achieve our goal and create a support program that is both open and collaborative.

The Round Rock ISD Flipped Classroom
The term "flipped classroom" is so new to the educational vernacular that it is open to wide interpretation. In Round Rock ISD, we have developed a clear model of what the flipped classroom should look like in our district as well as how to implement it. This session will introduce teachers to the RRISD Flipped Classroom Model and provide tools for them to take back and use in their own classrooms.

Taming the Google Drive and Sites
Ever since the google revolution in RRISD, teachers have been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information shared through GAFE. Many teachers don’t know how to use apps effectively and have fallen off the GAFEwagon. As a teacher and as someone who has managed to stay afloat in GAFEworld through self-learning, I want to bridge the gap between those teachers and technology. This session will give tips on how to handle the files in their Drive and how to use Sites to communicate with students and parents. Technology is useless if we don’t know how to use it.
