It Started in the Library
Throughout this previous year Misti and I developed many lesson that would start with an intorduction using various genres in the library and then they would transfer back in the classroom setting. One of the projects we completed began with the librarian creating QR codes connected to non-fiction books dealing with plant and animal life-cycles. She handed out the QR codes to the students and then they had to find their book on the shelf in the library. They were given the opportunity to trade once with someone if they both agreed. Next, they read their books (more than once) and created a sketch on their device of what they had gleaned from their book in order to anchor their knowledge. As their final project they required to select an app where they created an interactive presentation of their life-cycle.
